A student of philosophy and history, Prof. Kishore Mahbubani has had the good fortune of a career in government and, at the same time, writing on issues of public interest, from economy to education. Apart from being the Dean and Professor in the Practice of Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, he is an author, columnist and a notable former Singaporean diplomat.
