Having started her career as a project engineer in Dubai Media City in 2001, Dr Al Rustamani has risen to become one of the Arab world's most powerful and respected women. She was listed in Arabian Business as one of "100 Most Powerful Arab Women" in 2015 and 2016, and Gulf Business as one of "100 Powerful Arabs" in 2015; she was named ""Advertising Person of the Year"" in Dubai Lynx 2015.

In her current position, she guides the innovation strategy of the TECOM Group which is a member of Dubai Holding and a strategic business enabler that contributes to the realisation of Dubai's economic aspirations. She leads the Group's contributions towards the goals of economic diversification, competitiveness, innovation and smart services within UAE Vision 2021.

Dr Al Rustamani is also Chairperson of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council, and a Board Member of the National Media Council, Dubai Media Incorporated and Dubai Healthcare City Authority.
