Dr ShaMsheer Vayalil is an entrepreneur and philanthropist who serves as the Chairman & Managing Director of VPS Healthcare LLC and Managing Director of Amanat Holdings - GCC's largest Healthcare and Education Investment Company. He is locally and internationally recognised and awarded for his continuous efforts for healthcare, philanthropy and entrepreneurship. Be it donations for Syrian refugees, free heart surgeries for the underprivileged or evacuating patients for treatment, Dr. ShaMsheer's CSR initiatives have helped tens of thousands of people around the world.

Given his business acumen and realising the absence of a premier tertiary care facility, Dr ShaMsheer set up the first hospital of the group in the UAE - LLH Hospital, Abu Dhabi. In just over a decade, he has built one of the most dynamic healthcare companies in the Gulf, spanning 4 countries, 22 hospitals, over 125 health centers, more than 13,000 employees and one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in the UAE.

He is an active contributor to economic, social and political development projects. The UAE government, Indian government, industry and trade associations as well as the media, has recognised Dr ShaMsheer's contributions. He is the youngest Indian to receive the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award 2014' - the highest civilian Award presented to Non-Resident Indians by the Government of India.

In 2018, Dr ShaMsheer joined the Giving Pledge - a program started by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett to publicly dedicate the majority of their wealth to philanthropy. He joined the initiative to help scale and have a much greater impact for his philanthropic efforts at a population health level.
