H.E. Al Shihhi is involved in the day-to-day administrative functions at the Ministry. He plays an instrumental role in policy formulation and implementation, especially in highlighting the UAE as a stable and diversified economy, which is diligently working to become a full-fledged knowledge economy. In line with the UAE Vision 2021, and through the bilateral joint economic committees, he is at the vanguard of the Ministry's efforts to attract foreign direct investments in the high-growth areas, and promote trade with leading countries in international trade.

H.E. Al Shihhi is a strong advocate of a participation-based approach that reflects the Ministry's commitment to public-private partnership in promoting the UAE as one of the most preferred destinations to do business globally. He is currently also member of the Board of the Emirates Identity Authority, Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat), Emirates Standardization and Metrology Authority, Arab Mining Company, Arab Planning Institute and head of the UAE federal competition Committee and Trademark and Agency Committee, amongst others.
