Mr Mahesh Menda is a philanthropist and businessperson of Indian origin, living in Dubai since 1976. Mr Menda is the single largest donor and Permanent Chairman of Inlaks General Hospital in Mumbai, a charitable hospital that provides heavily subsidised medical care to the underprivileged. Mr Menda also sponsors hospital beds, where patients receive free medical treatment including surgery.
In 2013, Mr Menda organised a Charity Gala Fundraiser that raised AED 1.1 million in support of the UN World Food Programme. Mr Menda has made a donation of AED 1 million to Dubai Cares in 2017. He has also made donations to the Indian Association of Ajman, the Sikh Gurudwara in Dubai and the Indian Social Center in Abu Dhabi where he was appointed Governor General. He was an advisor to a nonprofit organisation Care for Laborers, and thus contributed to the improved living conditions of low-income workers in the UAE.
In business, Mr Menda runs companies in the Gulf & India that supply equipment in the energy & telecom sectors and consult on infrastructure projects. Mr Menda also serves as advisor to Alrai Capital, a New York-based Venture Capital Firm.
