Tsuyoshi Nakai has contributed immensely towards strengthening collaborations and ties between Japan and the UAE through his commitment to technology exchange that has benefitted future-centric economies. As the JCCP chief since 2014, Mr Nakai has supported multiple initiatives by sharing Japanese expertise and providing technology assistance aimed at achieving sustainability, low carbon levels, energy conservation policies and strategic capital investments.
Beyond technology, Mr Nakai, has sought to invest heavily in human resource development and inculcating a safety culture. This pioneering method allows for firMs to build proactive and sustainable business models.
In 1976, Mr Nakai joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and directed policymaking in various fields, such as industry, trade, energy, small enterprises and high technology. He was appointed Chief Representative for China, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Organization (NEDO) Beijing office from 1995-1998, and Director General of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Paris, for European and Maghreb affairs in 2003. He was also the Corporate Vice President of SUBARU (Fuji Heavy Industries) for overseas marketing, external relations and legal affairs from 2011-2014.
Additionally, Mr Nakai was a Visiting Professor for Management of INSEAD in France from 2005-2007. His written works include "New Eco Car's Competition" "China under the Energy Risk Era". In 2013, he was awarded the French "L' Ordre National du Merite".
